Discover Flame Kabob

Walking into Flame Kabob feels like stepping into a neighborhood spot that already knows what you’re about to order. I’ve eaten here more times than I can count, usually after a long day around Dr. Phillips, and the experience is consistently comforting without feeling predictable. The location at 7536 Dr Phillips Blvd Ste #350, Orlando, FL 32819, United States sits in a busy stretch of restaurants, yet this place stands out for how calm and welcoming it feels once you’re inside.

The menu leans heavily into Persian and Middle Eastern comfort food, with grilled meats, seasoned rice, and fresh sides taking center stage. One thing I’ve noticed over the years is how the kitchen sticks to traditional preparation methods. Meats are marinated for hours, not minutes, and cooked over an open flame, which explains that smoky flavor people mention again and again in reviews. I once asked a staff member why the chicken koobideh stays so juicy, and he explained that they use a yogurt-based marinade, a method supported by food science research showing yogurt helps tenderize meat while retaining moisture, according to studies published by the Journal of Food Science.

Ordering here is straightforward, but the combinations make it feel customizable. You can pair koobideh, barg, or chicken with saffron rice, grilled vegetables, or a crisp Shirazi salad. On one visit, I tried the lamb shank after seeing a handwritten note on the counter calling it Slow cooked to perfection. It arrived fall-apart tender, clearly braised for hours, which aligns with traditional Persian cooking techniques passed down through generations. Organizations like the Culinary Institute of America often highlight slow braising as one of the most reliable methods for developing deep flavor without added fats.

What really builds trust is consistency. I’ve brought friends who had never tried Persian food before, and every time, the reaction is the same: surprise at how balanced the flavors are. Nothing feels overly salty or heavy. That balance reflects broader research around Mediterranean-style diets. Harvard School of Public Health regularly points out that meals built around grilled proteins, herbs, rice, and vegetables tend to be both satisfying and nutritionally sound, which may explain why you don’t leave feeling weighed down.

Service is another reason this diner-style restaurant earns repeat visits. Staff members are quick to explain dishes without making you feel rushed or clueless. On a busy Friday night, I watched them handle a line out the door while still greeting regulars by name. That kind of familiarity doesn’t happen by accident; it comes from years of listening to customers and refining the process. You’ll often hear people describe the atmosphere as Friendly without being pushy, and that feels accurate every time I’m there.

The restaurant has built a solid reputation across local reviews, especially for takeout. I’ve tested that myself, ordering family platters for small gatherings. Everything travels well, from the rice to the grilled meats, which isn’t easy to pull off. The portions are generous, and the packaging keeps sauces separate so nothing turns soggy. That attention to detail is something food safety experts like the USDA often emphasize when it comes to maintaining quality and freshness during transport.

No place is perfect, and during peak hours, seating can feel tight. If you’re sensitive to noise, it’s better to come earlier in the evening. Still, those minor limitations don’t outweigh the strengths. Between the carefully prepared menu, the knowledgeable staff, and the steady stream of loyal customers, it’s clear why this spot continues to thrive among Orlando dining options.

  • This place is a true hidden gem here in Dr. Phillips. My husband and I stopped in today for lunch had a gyro and he shish Tawook. Both of these meals were fully flavorful and well seasoned. The staff here was very kind. I was torn between two things. I picked the Gyro based off of the waitresses recommendation. I’m so excited that I have all these leftovers. Their lunch portions are huge. I also can’t wait to stop back in when I’m up in this area again. In the atmosphere is really cute. We like the different wall textures the little lamps that were above the booth.

  • Visiting Orlando for the first time. Came for dinner to Flame Kabob and I must say the food is spectacular! We had the Lamb Shank and the Kabab platter, very flavourful and juicy. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal after a busy day! Service was a little slow today as the place was packed and only two servers. But the staff was very sweet and friendly. Highly recommend you try this halal food spot!

  • Hands down I had the best grilled chicken and lamb when I ordered the Kabab combination. Honestly recommended it The plate was fully loaded, and our host was humble and super nice. The hummus with the pita bread is also a can't miss. I would've given a full 5 stars but the restaurant was really cold. Other than that the food was just awesome.
